Review of ONCE UPON A TIME EPISODE Child Of The Moon

In Storybrooke, Red faces her first full moon since the curse was broken and magic was reinstated into the world. When a man is killed by a wolf, she believes it was her even though nobody else does.

The Storybrooke element of this episode is almost painfully thin and flimsy. Uncomplicated doesn't even begin to cover it. Fortunately, we have the flashbacks into the magic realm where Ruby finds her real mother and a way to control the wolf. Admittedly, this story introduces the mother only to get rid of her again in very unlikely haste, but the conflict between two sides of a character is earnestly played, even though we have seen it all before elsewhere.

King George's revenge on Charming is nicely duplicitous and all in all this was a solidly entertaining episode.

UNDERWORLD AWAKENING leads US Box Office

The fourth in the not very good, but so very, very cool UNDERWORLD series stormed to the top of the US Box office chart this weekend, marking the comeback of Kate Beckinsale as the vampire lead Selene.

This time around, the threat from the Lycan (werewolves don't you know) is compounded by the fact that the humans learn of the existence of the ongoing war between the two species and set out to eradicate them both.

Then again, who cares? If Ms Beckinsale is squeezing into the tight rubber and pulling off the legs-spread action poses we'll be happy. That's what sold us the first two and what was sadly missing from the third.

Howl at the moon with TEEN WOLF

The vampires have been having all the fun in recent years with the success of the TWILIGHT movies and more vampire TV shows than you could easily shake a sharpened stake at, but the success of the Jacob camp amongst the twiglet lovers has suggested that this might be time for the furry wolf type creatures to take over.
The Michael J Fox limp teen comedy TEEN WOLF might not be the obvious source material for this to happen, but then BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER came off a very poor movie as well and that's just about one of the best fantasy shows ever. So, after a VAMPIRE DIARIES style makeover, the hairy fanged ones (rather than the spangly fanged ones) are attacking your teletube over on Living TV.
